How to order QATs resources
All orders require a school purchase order number, teacher’s name and email address, school address, finance email address and phone number for verification processes. QATs are strictly NOT for private tutor use.
We only accept payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). We do not accept cheques or credit card payment for security reasons.

HSC & Year 11 Trial Exams and Assessment Tasks (NSW)
Quality Assessment Tasks (QATs) have your HSC and Year 11 needs covered.
Developed by experienced teachers and writers, they cover the range of assessment materials required across senior secondary subjects including:
- HSC Non-Exam Assessment Tasks
- HSC Trial Examinations
- Year 11 Non-Exam Assessment Tasks
- Final Year 11 Preliminary Examinations
All material is published in Word for adaption and editing.
HSC Trial Examinations and Year 11 Examinations
These resources are developed in line with NESA requirements and include question and answer spaces, NESA-aligned marking guidelines and mapping grids.
Exam papers are editable allowing you to make any changes as required by your school (e.g. adding school logo) and for your specific course needs.
Delivery
Non-Exam Assessment Tasks are available from 13 October 2025 (first release) and 5 February 2026 (second release).
Trial Exams are available from week of 22 June 2026.
Year 11 Exams are available from week of 22 June 2026.
All HSC Exams are embargoed until 28 August 2026 and Year 11 Exams until 25 September 2026.
Embargo
All HSC Exams are embargoed until 29 August 2025 and Year 11 Exams until 26 September 2025.
Schools must ensure that papers are not released to students until after the embargoed period. Teachers may scrutinise papers with students during the embargoed period in a controlled session, such as a lesson. However, papers must be collected by the teacher at the end of the session. Under no circumstances are photos/photocopies/scans to be taken of any part of the papers, for or by students, during the embargoed period. When the embargoed period has ended, papers may be permanently returned to students.
Non-Exam Assesment Tasks
Assessment tasks are ready for classroom use and include the following features:
- Introduction – identifies the essential elements of the task in relation to expected outcomes and content.
- Task advice – includes relevant source material, questions, and mark allocation.
- Teacher advice – includes task management strategies and a mapping grid as appropriate.
- Marking Guidelines – provides teachers and students with a NESA-aligned explanation of the basis on which marks for the task/question are allocated.
We recommend that teachers use a variety of assessment tasks to ensure the security and integrity of an assessment program.

VCE Trial Exams and Assessment Tasks (Victoria)
Quality Assessment Tasks (QATs) are a comprehensive set of assessment resources for use with School Assessed Coursework (SACs) and examinations at VCE Units 1-4.
The assessment tasks provide an excellent resource for teachers to use directly with their students: both for assessment and as preparation for assessment. Delivered by email, they can be downloaded instantly and printed for immediate student use.
All SAC tasks and exams are published in Word which allows teachers the freedom to alter/vary tasks in accordance with VCAA expectations.
QATs School Assessed Coursework (SACs)
- Introduction – identifies the essential elements of the task in relation to VCAA outcomes and content.
- Task advice – includes relevant source material, questions, and mark allocation
- Task variation suggestions – alternative questions and/or approaches to the task are provided to assist with alignment and security requirements.
- Teacher advice – includes any specific task management issues and links to VCAA requirements.
- Solution Pathway – provides teachers and students with an explanation of the basis on which marks for the task/question are allocated. Sample high level responses are also provided.
QATs Examinations
The VCE Practice Examinations include similar features to those outlined above, including a Solution Pathway. They provide exam instructions consistent with VCAA guidelines and examinations, design structures, expectations with study design content, and skills development.
Delivery
NEW Units 1 and 3 QATs for 2026 will be emailed to schools from 9 February 2026 and Units 2 and 4 from 4 May 2026. Trial Exams emailed from 13 July 2026.
